Photo Emulsion (For Rotary Screens)
Universal Engraving Emulsion is formulated for both machine and hand coating of rotary screens across all mesh counts, producing a smooth and uniformly consistent coating layer that develops cleanly at every stage. The emulsion is peacock blue or sky blue in colour before polymerisation and shifts to greenish blue once complete. Following polymerisation at 180°C for 2 hours, it achieves full chemical and mechanical resistance against all printing pastes used in textile production. Supplied with sensitizer separately, it is available in 10 and 50 kg carboys with an unsensitized shelf life of 12 to 20 months under correct storage conditions.
How to Use
- Mix emulsion with sensitizer one day prior to use at a ratio of 50ml sensitizer per 100gm emulsion
- Store the mixed solution overnight in a cool and dry place before applying
- Dilute with distilled water where a thinner and more uniform coating layer is needed
Keep in Mind
- Exposure time differs based on local light source, temperature and relative humidity determine your ideal time through testing before production use
- Once sensitized, the emulsion must be used within 3 days
- Store unsensitized stock between 5°C and 20°C to preserve full shelf life
Stripper
Stripper is a dedicated stripping agent for engraved rotary screens of all mesh counts, used after emulsion polymerisation to clear the screen for fresh coating. It works effectively across repeat stripping cycles without degrading screen quality, making it a reliable part of the regular screen maintenance process. The product is slightly brown in colour and is packed in 35 kg blue HDPE carboys. Once the container is opened, the product remains usable for 1 to 2 months.
How to Use
- Clean the stripping tank before starting; residual stripper from a previous cycle can be left in the tank
- Immerse screens fully in the solution and leave for 20 to 30 minutes
- Rinse with a generous amount of water and degrease thoroughly before applying fresh emulsion
Keep in Mind
- Protect eyes, skin and clothing throughout handling
- Always work in a well ventilated area and use a mask to prevent inhalation
- If the product contacts skin, wash the affected area immediately with large quantities of water and seek qualified medical attention
Degreaser
Degreaser is a critical preparatory chemical used before emulsion coating to ensure the nickel screen surface is completely clean and free of grease, oils and contaminants. Proper degreasing directly impacts emulsion adhesion, development consistency and overall screen quality. Unlike chromic acid, which etches the nickel surface and restricts reuse to just 2 to 3 cycles, this degreaser causes no surface damage and significantly extends screen life. It is slightly bluish in colour and is packed in 35 kg HDPE carboys with an unlimited shelf life when the container is kept tightly closed.
How to Use
- Mix in a 1:4 ratio with water for a 300 kg tank, add 225 kg water first followed by 75 kg degreaser
- Immerse screens in the solution for 10 minutes
- Rinse thoroughly with water and place in a dust free environment to dry
Keep in Mind
- Always add water to the tank before the degreaser, never the reverse
- Avoid using chromic acid as an alternative, it permanently damages the nickel surface
- Keep the carboy tightly sealed when not in use
Chock Up Remover
Chock Up Remover is formulated to provide an immediate and effective solution for clogging that occurs on the cylinder surface during the printing process. Beyond its in process use, it also serves as a pre cleaning solution before screens go into final storage, helping maintain screen condition between production runs. It fully eliminates the need for chromic acid in clog removal. Packed in 35 kg HDPE carboys, the product has an unlimited shelf life provided the container is kept closed after every use.
How to Use
- Apply directly onto the clogged area of the cylinder during printing for immediate clog removal
- Use as a pre cleaning wash on screens before placing them into storage
Keep in Mind
- Always keep the container tightly closed after use to maintain product integrity
- Do not use chromic acid alongside this product as a combined treatment.
Endring Adhesive
Endring Adhesive is a high strength bonding agent used for fixing endrings onto rotary screens, ensuring a secure and durable seal that holds under the mechanical and chemical demands of continuous printing production. It is formulated to work with a catalyst hardener which activates the full bonding strength of the adhesive. Together, the two components create a joint that withstands the operational pressures of high speed rotary printing without loosening or failing mid run.
How to Use
- Mix Endring Adhesive with the catalyst hardener in the correct ratio before application
- Apply evenly along the contact surface of the endring before pressing it onto the screen
- Allow sufficient curing time before putting the screen into production use
Keep in Mind
- Do not use the adhesive without the catalyst hardener as it will not achieve full bonding strength
- Ensure the screen surface is clean and grease free before applying the adhesive
- Work quickly after mixing as pot life is limited once catalyst is added
Endring Remover
Endring Remover is a softening and stripping agent developed specifically for the removal of endrings from rotary screens. It works by softening the adhesive bond between the endring and the screen, allowing clean and damage free separation without the need for mechanical force beyond a simple jerk. Light in colour, the product is packed in 35 kg HDPE blue carboys and carries a shelf life of 3 to 4 months when stored airtight.
How to Use
- Pour into a plastic bucket until the liquid level reaches approximately 2cm above the endrings
- Allow endrings to soak for 10 to 20 minutes before removing by jerking open
- For best throughput, process 10 to 15 endrings per batch at a time
Keep in Mind
- Always keep the container airtight after use to protect shelf life
- Use only plastic containers for soaking, not metal
Fluffix (Fluff Remover)
Fluffix is a specialised adhesive glue applied to rotary screens for the removal of fluff, loose fibres, threads, pollen material and surface dirt from cotton fabrics before the printing process begins. Its tacky surface is capable of collecting loose material continuously from up to 2000 metres of cloth per application. The product is semi liquid, pourable and white in colour. It is available in 5 kg, 30 kg and 50 kg packing options and carries a shelf life of 6 months.
How to Use
- Apply Fluffix onto the rotary screen using a brush, covering the surface evenly
- Dry in an oven at 100°C for 10 to 20 minutes until all tackiness disappears completely
- For extended production runs, apply a fresh coat directly over the existing dried coat
- Dilute with water only if a thinner application consistency is required
Keep in Mind
- Ensure oven drying is fully complete before placing the screen into service
- Do not use on synthetic fabrics without prior testing to confirm compatibility
